Inside This Guide

Teen Patti Master is one of the most-searched card apps in India, and it's built on a game most Indian families already know. Teen patti literally means "three cards". Everyone at the table gets three cards, puts chips into a shared pot, and the strongest hand at the end takes it.
If you grew up playing during Diwali nights, the app version will feel familiar straight away. The rankings, blind and seen betting and the side show all work the same. Apps mostly speed things up and add extra modes, so a round that might take five minutes at home can finish in under one.
The name gets copied a lot, though. Search "Teen Patti Master" and you'll find dozens of look-alike sites and APK files using the same logo. This guide sticks to what doesn't change: how the game works, how to read your hand, and how to keep your phone and bank account safe.

Three-Card Format
Every player gets just three cards, so rounds are short and easy to follow.
Six Hand Rankings
From Trail down to High Card. Learn this ladder and you can follow any table.
Plain-Language Rules
Boot, chaal, pack and side show, each explained with an example.

Why People Love Teen Patti
A game that has gone from festival nights at home to phone screens. Here's why the format works so well.
Quick Rounds
With only three cards and a handful of actions, a round rarely lasts more than a minute or two.
Blind Play Adds Drama
You can bet without looking at your cards. It's cheaper, and it puts real pressure on everyone else.
Easy to Learn
Anyone who knows a deck of cards can learn the basics in about 15 minutes.
Endless Variations
AK47, Muflis, Joker and 999 each change one rule, so the game stays fresh.
Cultural Roots
It's tied to Diwali and family get-togethers, so it often feels more like a tradition than just a game.
Skill + Reading People
The cards are random, but deciding when to see, side show or pack is a skill you can improve.
Basic Teen Patti Rules in 60 Seconds
Teen Patti uses a normal 52-card deck with no jokers, and works best with 3 to 6 players. Here's the whole game in a nutshell:
- Boot: everyone puts a small fixed amount in the pot before the deal, so there's always something to play for.
- Deal: three cards face down to each player, one at a time, going clockwise.
- Blind or seen: you can play without looking at your cards (blind) or pick them up (seen). Seen players bet double.
- Chaal or pack: on your turn you either match the stake to stay in (chaal) or fold (pack).
- Side show: a seen player can ask the seen player before them to compare cards privately. The weaker hand folds.
- Show: when only two players remain, either can call a show and the better hand wins the pot.

How a Round of Teen Patti Works
It's easier to follow a round when you see it as a short sequence of steps. Here's one round from start to finish:
Join a table and post the boot
The boot is the starting pot. In a friendly game it's usually chips or points with no money value.
Receive three cards
Your cards arrive face down. Don't rush to look. Staying blind keeps your bets cheaper for now.
Choose: stay blind or see
Once you've seen your cards, every chaal costs twice what a blind player pays. Look only when it's worth it.
Chaal, side show or pack
Weak hand and rising stakes? Packing early saves chips. Decent hand? Stay in, or ask for a side show to knock out a rival.
Call the show
When only two players are left, either can ask for a show. Cards go face up and the ranking ladder decides the winner.

Popular Variations You'll Meet
Most Teen Patti apps and home games include at least a few of these. Each changes one rule and keeps the rest.
Five Tips for New Players
- Learn the ladder first. Most beginner mistakes come from misreading a hand, for example thinking a Color beats a Sequence. It doesn't.
- Stay blind for a round or two. Blind bets are half the price, and other players can't read you.
- Pack weak hands early. Three-quarters of all hands are just High Card. You don't have to chase every pot.
- Use side shows carefully. A side show tells your opponent something about your hand, even if you win it.
- Set a limit before you start, even with free chips. Deciding when to stop is a skill too.

Is Teen Patti Master Legal in India?
This changed a lot in 2025. The Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025 bans online money games across India: games where you deposit money hoping to win more. It also bans advertising them and stops banks and payment apps from processing their transactions.
Playing Teen Patti for fun with family, or in free apps with no deposits and no cash prizes, falls in a different category. That's why this site sticks to rules and safety and never links to real-money apps or bonuses.
Safety & Fake APK Warning
Popular names attract scammers. Plenty of sites copy the "Teen Patti Master" logo, offer a "₹ bonus APK", and then ask for UPI payments or harvest your contacts and SMS. Some of them aren't games at all, just malware.
Use this quick checklist before installing anything, or before sharing a single number with "customer support".

- APK shared on Telegram, WhatsApp or via SMS link
- Promises of "100% win", "mod" or "unlimited chips"
- Asks for SMS, contacts or Accessibility permission
- "Support agent" asking for OTP, UPI PIN or screen share
- Demands a "withdrawal fee" before paying out
